VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Purpose for the policy
We want to recognize and reward team members for volunteer involvement in South Country Co-op community activities and employee community volunteer activities.
OBJECTIVES
➢ Encourage all South Country Co-op team members to volunteer in the community and demonstrate South Country Co-op's vision statement of “Building Sustainable Communities Together”.
➢ Support organizations that our team members value and support through their volunteer efforts.
PAID COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Team Members may apply for a maximum $100 direct donation to an organization they volunteer for a minimum of 40 hours per year. Religious, political, or organizations that compromise South Country Co-op image are not eligible. Requests must follow South Country Co-operative Policy – HR 200.09 to a maximum budget available each fiscal year and is part of the South Country Co-op department budgets.
PROCESS:
• Team Members requests must be made in writing to their direct supervisor. Please contact Carmen Hudson at c.hudson@sccoop.ca for further information.
• Scheduling managers and supervisors do their best to accommodate requests, anticipating and encouraging opportunities.
• Team Members understand that they represent South Country Co-op and conduct themselves appropriately and safely, wearing Co-op branded clothing and providing promotional pictures when possible.
• The program will be administered by People & Culture with guidance from the Marketing team. People & Culture will track the volunteer hours.
